Bonjour Dan. Je suis de retour après une mission de quelques semaines dans la région du Boina (Mahajanga). Il fait chaud ici.
Bonjour Dany. We are currently on a business trip in Tokyo where it is very chilly :-) We will be back in Hawaii tomorrow. Having some variety in the weather can be nice.

I hope we get to visit Mahajanga during our next trip.

Thank you for joining the Malagasy language group. If you have any suggestions for content, please let me know. I'll add it to the description or text box at the top.

Hi Dany,

I read some of your blogs. Thanks a lit for that. Now it is the Dec. 1st 2008 - it is very cold in Berlin - raining now - yesterday we had a little bit snow. But I like more sun than snow.

This is a photo by me with one of my favourite flowers: Sunflowers! Do you feel the sun? Do you have a christmas tree in Madagaskar? Here all have normally a christmas tree - and the streets are full of electic candle lights. maybe i will male a photo of it to share it with you.

All Best,
Jens

Aloha Dany. Thank you for explaining the Malagasy name Mika. I think northern European people and Russians also use the name Mika as short for Michael. I guess only Japanese use Mika for a womans name :-)

Malagasy names remind me of Hawaiian names. The old names are very long. Do they tell a story like Hawaiian names?

What does "Tsara ve ny dia?" mean? Sorry, my Malagasy is very poor.
